Key dates to discuss carefully

12 August 2026: PPWR applies under Article 71. This is the main date behind current buyer questions.
From 1 January 2030 or the later act-based date: Article 6 introduces the next stage of recyclability requirements, including design-for-recycling conditions and performance grades.
From 1 January 2030 or the later act-based date: Article 7 sets minimum recycled-content rules for specified plastic packaging categories. The percentage is not one universal rule for every PE bag.
From 1 January 2030: Article 10 requires packaging weight and volume to be reduced to the minimum necessary for its function, subject to the regulation's conditions.
From 12 August 2028 or the later act-based date: Article 12 introduces harmonised packaging labelling requirements, with specific exceptions and conditions.
